It’s Been A Minute – MDW

It’s been a cool minute since I made a blog post. I promise I won’t do it again!

Lemme catch y’all up on what’s new…

In April, I dropped SYNDICATION, a best of remastered compilation album with songs from my television album series (The Pilot Episode, Season Premiere, and Season Finale). Later that month, I won 1st place at the CSUN Cipher Producer Showcase at Cal State Northridge. Last year I came in 3rd place so I guess you can say I got my revenge lol.

May has been just as dope! I’m making some of THE DOPEST BEATS I’VE EVER MADE!! I started working on my new album, IFOTW (Illest Fly On The Wall). I recorded the vocals with the incredible engineer and artist Blvk Lotus and they’re being mixed by the amazing SoundsByLP.

I can’t wait for you all to hear this project!

What’s coming up?

Well like I said, I’ll be updating the blog every Friday to keep you updated on what I got going on, but I’ll also be giving my thoughts on the events of the week as well. To be honest, I thought long and hard about doing a podcast. And who knows, I still might!

But I wanted to bring something back to hip hop culture that has all but faded away, HIP HOP LITERATURE! If you’re 30-35 and older you definitely remember going crazy over your favorite hiphop magazine or your favorite hiphop blog site. They’re all but gone now…

LETS BRING THAT BACK!

Why does my voice matter? Well, I’m from the home of hip hop, New York City, and I have been a student of the sport for over 35 years, and have been creating music for over 20 years. I’ve also lived across a vast majority of the US, including the almost 20 years I’ve been residing in Southern California. That, combined with my studies in Communications-Journalism at Penn State University, allows me to tap into hip hop and hip hop culture from all angles with an unbiased and honest perspective.
